Open Source Coding Assistant

Ofradr is an open source coding assistant aimed at live coding, timed assessments, and offline practice. It is not a VS Code fork you rent by the month. Ultra is free. The repo is sunnycodet/ofradr.

For the editor and the browser

Overlay sits on the session you already have — CoderPad, HackerRank, LeetCode, IDE — without a paid plugin.

Local models

Point Ultra at a local model when you do not want the prompt to leave the machine.

No seat tax

Copilot-style tools bill per user. Ofradr bills nobody.

How this differs from Copilot and Cursor

Those products are editors. Ofradr is an overlay assistant for situations where you cannot install a marketplace extension — shared pads, locked-down exam browsers, screen-shared interviews.

Because it is open source, you can see that the assistant is a small native binary rather than a 200MB Chromium wrapper.

Free to run on real problems

Unlimited chat means you can iterate on a graph problem for an hour. Unlimited browser mode means a long HackerRank window does not cut you off. That used to be the Ultra upsell.

FAQ

Is Ofradr an open source Copilot alternative?

It is an open source overlay assistant, not a full IDE. For interviews and assessments it replaces paid copilots. For daily editing you may still use an IDE plugin.

Can I use it on LeetCode for free?

Yes. Ultra is free forever. Practice on your own machine and follow site rules.
